Description

Tender and flavorful chicken wings cooked low and slow in a slow cooker, then finished under the broiler for crispy skin. Perfect for game day or a delicious snack.

Ingredients

Scale

2 pounds chicken wings, separated into drumettes and flats
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 cup barbecue sauce
1/4 cup hot sauce

Instructions

Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels.
In a large bowl, season the chicken wings with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Toss to coat evenly.
Place the seasoned wings in the slow cooker in a single layer as much as possible.
Cover and cook on low for 4 hours until the wings are tender and cooked through.
Preheat the oven broiler to high.
Carefully transfer the cooked wings to a baking sheet lined with foil.
In a small bowl, mix the barbecue sauce and hot sauce until combined.
Brush the sauce mixture generously over the wings.
Broil the wings for 3-5 minutes, watching closely, until the sauce is caramelized and the skin is crispy.
Remove from the oven and let the wings rest for 2 minutes before serving.
