Description

A nutritious and delicious turkey dinner specially prepared for dogs, featuring lean turkey, vegetables, and rice for a balanced meal.

Ingredients

Scale

1 pound ground turkey (lean, 93% lean or higher)
1 cup brown rice, uncooked
1 1/2 cups water
1 cup chopped carrots (fresh, peeled)
1 cup chopped green beans (fresh or frozen, cut into bite-sized pieces)
1/2 cup peas (fresh or frozen)
1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

Rinse the brown rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed brown rice and 1 1/2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 40 minutes or until rice is tender and water is absorbed.
While the rice is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the ground turkey to the skillet and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until fully cooked and no longer pink, about 8-10 minutes.
Add the chopped carrots, green beans, and peas to the skillet with the turkey. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender but not mushy.
Once the rice is cooked, combine the cooked rice with the turkey and vegetable mixture in the skillet. Stir well to combine all ingredients evenly.
Allow the mixture to cool completely before serving to your dog.
Serve appropriate portion sizes based on your dog’s size and dietary needs.
